Tasting Notes by Jim McEwan
Aromas - Sensational combination of plump red grapes and smoke infused pomegranate that doesn't overshadow the malty, nutty character or Islay pedigree!
Palate - Ripened a stone's throw from the Atlantic, you'll detect a brackish quality that blends beautifully with the dry smoke from the peat fires. It's a complex blend of oak, smoke, fruit, Islay-grown barley, sea openings and antique equipment. No computers, just dedicated distillers and time. The stunning quality of the wine cask is the perfect counterpoint to the influence of peat smoke as they mature together by the Atlantic Ocean. This is the Auld alliance at its best.
Distilled by the people of Islay who were born to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, without dyes, without chemists. Just humble islanders who leave their DNA on every bottle with pride and passion.
Bottled on the Isle of Islay, 100% matured on the Isle of Islay with its unique position in the Atlantic Ocean, pollution free and cleansed by powerful storms.
The finish is long and lingers on the palate thanks to the filtration without refrigeration which gives an incredible mouthfeel!
