Tasting Notes by Jim McEwan
Color - Primrose Yellow
Aromas - Opens beautifully with a combination of primrose, myrtle, lily, marigold and mint. It's like walking through peat fires next to the Atlantic Ocean! Then the sweetness of toasted barley and mellow oak drift in, bringing with them little hints of bourbon spice deposited by the first barrel-matured spirit.
"It's sweet for my spirit."
Taste - The alcohol is balanced and restrained on the palate. This is pure Islay; no smoke, just barley and oak and oceanside weather. Opulent flavors seduce the taste buds with sweet oak and barley sugars. The maritime Islay character stays with you throughout the tasting, it's fresh and clean and it's infused with the passion and traditional craftsmanship of a team of dedicated distillers who bring the magic to mind. No computers, no dyes, no chill filtration, just special spirit from a special place.
