The color - Golden yellow/ Light honey
Aromas - Opens with an iodized freshness and a floating peat smoke from its location near the Atlantic Ocean. It's absolutely delicious, young, fresh and vibrant. Lots of citrus; lemon, lime and a hint of anise.
It shows the same DNA as an Islay. The bourbon cask imparted a sweet spicy oak openness that works well with the sweet smoke drift. Lingering on a very light touch of sherry, the sweet spicy woody aromas from the bourbon cask are excellent, with waves of tangy barley malt bringing a biscuity sweetness that lingers in harmony with the USA oak sugars and from Spain.
Built in 1875, whiskey from this distillery is primarily used in blends. However, it is now appreciated by single malt fans who love unique spirits and this one falls into that category.
